Plastic waste exhibition: Lighting

The lighting aspect of this project creates a guide and shows emphasis on the experience within this exhibition using a variety of light fixtures, from manufacturers supporting sustainable approaches. The concept of the ocean currents and its force is enhanced even more by lighting the sides of the path which pushes and guides the visitor throughout the space. The garbage patch area not only provides a daytime instillation on the globe, but also turns into an impressive night-time attraction, where the recycled coloured plastic bottles are lit up. Not only will they be reflected onto the white background surrounding, as well as they will glow themselves achieving an overwhelming, busy, underwater feeling which connects back to what goes on in the real Great Pacific Garbage Patch. All the lights within the exhibition are to be bright, and of a cool white tone to reflect on the overall theme of ocean/water and relate to the colour scheme of The Ocean Cleanup. As the plastic bottle lights are coloured themselves, the lights will create the most affect with a normal white shade.
